This gives me an opportunity to tell you more about myself, my beliefs, and my ideas.
I believe public education will have a tremendous impact on the future of our great country. The minds and hearts of our children are a precious gift and we must do all in our power to pass on the knowledge, wisdom and values given to us. Our country is viewed worldwide as the land of opportunity, indeed as the “shining city on a hill.” The core values which have made America exceptional must consciously be taught anew to each new generation. Without the vigilant oversight of our patriotic citizens, our country and our schools are in danger of drifting to the left, as have many nations worldwide.
We must never presume that America can prosper and grow in goodness without the support of our public education system. Rather than focusing upon overhauling and federalizing our Texas public education system, we need to work to improve and refine what has already been shown to work. I fully support the rigorous core curriculum and return to the basics recently implemented by the State Board of Education. If elected, I promise to represent District 3 in a way that will protect both quality education and the future of our kids. To do this effectively, I will rely upon ideas and input from parents, teachers, and all citizens.
