Joanie Muenzler attended the Wilson County Republican Women’s monthly luncheon meeting at Jack’s Café. Along with other candidates, she gave a five-minute talk and answered questions from the audience.

Joanie Muenzler and her little friend, Nolan Keenan, put the finishing on her radio advertisements to begin running today through election day on KSLR 630-AM and KLUP 930-AM. Adam McManus, famed for his afternoon call-in show, “The Adam McManus Show,” provided excellent technical guidance, entrancing young Nolan.

Joanie Muenzler provided music for the San Antonio Tea Party Fundraiser Luncheon attended by Joe “the Plumber” Wurzelbacher, Sheriff Richard Mack of Arizona and many other interesting guests. After lunch, Joanie had her picture taken with Joe the Plumber, who is considering endorsing Joanie. During the afternoon rally, Joanie and many other candidates were introduced and campaigned among the attendees.

LaVernia, Texas 6:30 p.m.
Joanie Muenzler attended the wonderful Annual Lincoln Day Dinner sponsored by the Wilson County Republican Party. Over 300 guests from all over beautiful Wilson County enjoyed a great meal catered by the girls of the Wilson County 4-H. Following inspirational talks by a “real” George Washington, Abe Lincoln and Davy Crockett, she heard a Call to Arms by the State Republican Party Chair, Cathie Adams, who also inquired from the podium about Joanie’s District. A special recognition was given to Winnie Smith, first County Chair of the Republican Party in Wilson County. Joanie and other candidates campaigned enthusiastically among the many enjoyable guests.

Joanie Muenzler visited Ken Mercer’s Fundraiser to congratulate him on his exciting campaign for the State Board of Education, District 5, which is to the north of Joanie’s District 3.

Joanie Muenzler participated in the program entitled, “The State of Latino Education” sponsored by the Adelante U.S. Education Leadership Fund at St. Mary’s University. Keynote speaker was Juan Sepulveda, Director of White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for
Hispanic Americans. Following his informative talk, he answered many questions from the audience.

Joanie Muenzler participated in the Republican Judicial and Congressional Candidates’ Forum in the UTSA Ballroom co-sponsored by the College Republicans at UTSA and the Alamo City Republican Women. Following introductory talks, each candidate fielded questions from the student audience and Joanie enjoyed campaigning with the students.

Joanie Muenzler attended the Annual Membership Recruitment Reception of the Alamo City Republican Women at a beautiful private home in Olmos Park. Following a talk by Texas Speaker of the House, Joe Straus, she and other candidates were introduced and campaigned. Senator Jeff Wentworth, 25th Texas Senatorial District, kindly gave Joanie special recognition and “plugged her candidacy.”

Joanie Muenzler attended the Republican Party of Bexar County’s Annual Lincoln Day Dinner. This was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and featured Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus as keynote speaker. Other speakers included Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Attorney General Greg Abbott, and our wonderful District Attorney, Susan Reed. All current office-holders were introduced and then all candidates including Joanie were introduced. A wonderful evening!

Joanie Muenzler was endorsed by the San Antonio Express-News on its editorial page. Following an interview with the Express-News Editorial Board, Joanie was selected over her Republican Primary opponent with the following commentary, “We recommend Joanie Muenzler…who is retired and a former teacher. Her background as a tutor and volunteer in the schools will serve her well. She cares about the quality of education Texas Public schoolchildren are receiving…. Muenzler brings with her some solid ideas on how to improve things.” With this endorsement by the area’s leading newspaper, Joanie is well equipped to move on to victory in the Republican Primary on March 2 and, ultimately, to victory in November over her Democrat opponent.

Joanie Muenzler was endorsed as a “Home School Friend” by the prestigious Texas Home School Coalition PAC. In so doing, THSC said, “We are looking for candidates that sincerely believe it is a fundamental right of parents to direct the education and upbringing of their children. To that end, THSC PAC is working to identify incumbents and challengers who have indicated a commitment to support parental rights.” Joanie strongly supports parental rights in all areas of education—home schools, private schools, charter schools and public schools. For this reason, she opposes “federalization” of education under President Obama’s National Standards Initiative, a plan to take over control of all public education in the nation.
